by Bjarnason, Emil
Vancouver: Trade Union Research Bureau, 1961. Pamphlet. 16 pages, illustrations. Staplebound wrappers. Very Good. A scathing critique of employer propaganda against wage increases, with a focus on John Clyne’s allegations that wages at the Canadian firm MacMillan, Bloedel & Powell were too high and responsible for rising lumber prices. Numerous statistics and satirical cartoons of Clyne (signed “Wilson” or “W”), a lawyer and later judge in the Supreme Court of British Columbia. His corporate appointment in 1961 marked the beginning of MBP’s global expansion and increased market capitalization. (Inventory #: 196016)
