- Unbound
- [Washington, DC , 1971
[Washington, DC, 1971. Unbound. Fine. Collection of 15 different vintage color photographs. Measuring 3.5" x 5". Each print is fine. Printed on Kodak paper, dated stamped on the verso May, 1971. Several images of veterans, some on crutches and with a banner marching, several others of crowd scenes - a mix of veterans, hippies, and other youthful folk in front of the Capitol Building, several climbing trees for better vantage points. These are almost certainly from the "Dewey Canyon III" March in late April 1971. This was the first major protest made shortly after the conclusions of the Winter Soldier Report was released. The report and the protest were organized by the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. It took place to protest the "limited" American incursion into Laos, and was referred to by the participants of the march as "a limited incursion into the country of Congress." Nice vintage images.
