Ivan Panin (1855 - 1942) was a Russian-American author, lecturer, and Harvard graduate, known for claiming to have discovered numeric patterns in the texts of the Greek and Hebrew bibles. Though critics of his work doubted his claims that his statistical findings were proof of divine inspiration, Panin devoted over 50 years of his life to exploring and documenting the numerical structure of the Scriptures and wrote over 40 000 pages of analysis. He also published numerous books and articles on the subject.
