Duthoit & Co.'s umbrella can be found in the 1851 Great Exhibition: Official Catalogue: Class VIII: where it is described as "registered umbrella tent, suitable for emigrants, officers, and field purposes at home and abroad. Its object is portability, being contained in a bad measuring 7 feet by 1, and easily fixed." The center of the trade card is illustrated in blue and in relief, of their portable tent with their addresses "Factory & show rooms, 6, Finsbury Place South, & 6, Wilson Street, Finsbury Square, London."
