London, 1823. Unpaginated. Thirty-two color plates plus explanatory text of each plate printed in English, followed by the French translation; and a plate of music. Folio. Contemporary straight-grain gilt morocco, a.e.g., expertly recased. Extremities rubbed, hinges worn, chipping to head of spine. Occasional foxing, else internally very nice. Good. Presumably the second edition, after the first of 1806, with the same plates and text but with the type reset. A handsomely produced volume, with the brightly colored line-and-stipple engravings by James Godby, after original drawings by P. Van Lerberghi, and the text by M. Buonaiuti.
