Inscribed by the author on the FFEP, "For Juan Lopez / from his friend / Thornton Wilder / May 22, 1926 / Princeton, N.J. / 'I won't tell you whether this is true, or an allegory, or just nonsense,' p. 219." Book is very near fine, with just a little light rubbing at spine tips and along edges of boards. Dust jacket somewhat sunned along spine; and lightly chipped along the edges (including a large chip at tail of spine, not affecting text); but presents very nicely in mylar. An excellent copy of the author's first book, with a warm inscription, marking his time at Princeton.
