The signed limited edition, one of 885 copies sold (out of a total edition of 985), with a large drawing of Madeline and an inscription "For Barbara" added by Bemelmans to the back of the front free endpaper. Preceded the first trade edition, which came out in 1957. Fine in publisher's near fine red paper covered slipcase, then further enclosed in mylar and a custom-made cloth slipcase.
