A translation of Ludovico Ariosto's epic poem ORLANDO FURIOSO into French, with the Italian and French on facing pages. The work begins with an essay titled, "Sur Cette Edition." The essay and translation are credited to Pierre Samuel DuPont de Nemours, French economist famous for coining the term "Physiocracy." DuPont was also the father of Eleuthère Irénée Du Pont de Nemours, the founder of the DuPont gunpowder empire. A rare work, with only four copies in OCLC, this copy from a DuPont family library.
