Each print is signed in pencil by the artist.

One of 500 numbered copies signed by Castro, of which this is No. 342.

Fernando Castro Pacheco was a noted Mayan artist, and is especially remembered for the huge "murals" of Mayan history which adorn the walls of the Governor's Palace in Mérida, Yucatan.

While this title was obviously published in 2000, it is housed in a publishers box dated 2013, the date of the artist's death. We believe that, of the original 500 copies signed by the artist in 2000, the small number remaining unsold at his death were specially packaged by the publisher, The box is of brown wood and stout board, with an upper cover that slides in two side grooves. The cover is printed with the name of the author and the title, a notation (in Spanish) that the lithographs are signed, and the dates of the artist's life: 1918/2013. Laid in is a printed slip stating that the edition was limited to 500 copies.
