by Buchanan, George
Amsterodami: Ludovicum Elzevirium, 1643. First Elzevier edition, 8vo, pp. , 750, , 67, ; title page printed in red and black, printer's woodcut device on title, woodcut initials, sectional title page for De Jure Regni apud Scotos Dialogus; contemporary full British speckled calf, triple blind-rule borders on covers, spine in 5 compartments, red morocco label in 1; joints a little rubbed and a few hairline cracks in the spine, otherwise very good. Buchanan's (1506-1582) last but arguably most important work published shortly before his death in 1582.
