The Pawn was published by Charles H Harmer, fortnightly in four page issues. The publication was dedicated primarily to local chess news throughout the United States, focusing on local clubs, matches and events. The problem editor was L P Lawson and Lee Edwards assisted in annotating games.

Condition:

Volume one lacks numbers 2, 3 and 16. Volume two lacks number number 9, other than that complete. Some pages separated at folds, volume one number one heavily chipped at edges, all issues age toned else a good set of a vary scare publication.
