first edition
1941 · Bruxelles
Bruxelles, 1941. first. VG+, not counting the fact that the spines are off both volumes. Tight, clean and with sharp corners. Certainly worth repairing, considering the utter rarity of this periodical. Appear unused. 2 volumes uniformly bound in 3/4 leatherette. Volume 1 contains issues 1-13. Volume 2 contains issues 14-25, as well as the first (and only?) 23 issues of Apollo Ephemerides. Published in Belgium during World War 2, this seldon scene art periodical is presented here in a rare complete run, uniformly bound (with original wrappers intact). As an added bonus, the 8-page accessory publication APOLLO EPHEMERIDES is bound into the rear of the second volume. This weekly publication begins on February 27, 1943 and seems to cease with issue 23 on July 31, 1943. It seems to contains shorter articles and more ads for local gallery exhibitions and cinema activities, etc."L'hebdomadaire du collectionneur et de l'amateur d'art." Regular section "Echec et mat" covers Brussels art auctions, including prices realized. Some results from other European cities. Worldcat locates two copies of Ephemerides, both in the US.
