Vellum (truncated) binding partly darkened. Closed tears along lower front joint. Front hinge starting. Previous owners' bookplates on inside of front cover (William Joseph Connery), and front free endpaper (Wm. R. Blumenthal). Previous owners' names and stamps in ink on front free endpaper. Minor worming to lower margin of front free endpaper and engraved frontispiece (not affecting lettering or image). Minor to moderate foxing along lower margin of pp. 400-1120. Text in Latin. Binding in overall fair to good-, interior in good to very good condition. About the author: Christian Stock (1672-1733) was a celebrated scholar and Orientalist who became professor at Iena in 1717. His most important works are: "Disputationes de poenis Hebrosorum capitalibus," "Clavis Linguae Sanctae Veteris Testamentis," and "Clavis Linguae Sanctae Novi Testamenti."
