by Lorne, Marquis of
Ottawa, 1881.. 20pp. plus folding map. Original printed wrappers. Minor wear and dust-soiling. Mild toning. Very good. A scarce speech enthusiastically recommending migration to the Northwest, given at the end of the Marquis of Lorne's western tour during the summer and fall of 1881. The map illustrates Lorne's route. "The itinerary covered over 8,000 miles through farming, mining, and lumber regions. The author stresses the desirability of the region for homesteaders, and speaks of the Canadian Indian policy, the western railroads, and waterways" - Goodspeed. PEEL 427. NEBENZAHL 16:292.
