S. l.: Luxem Co., 1925. Softcover. First edition, n. d. (ca 1925); red die-cut card, folded to form two illustrated Christmas stockings; approx. 6 x 2; 10 cut slots, the shape and size of a dime to verso; small tear to fold line on verso only, else minor wear; very good to near fine condition.Sent/given to families with children in December, the card was a Christmas greeting, a clever advertisement for the First National Bank of Wood River, Illinois, and an incentive for kids to squirrel away 10 dimes and open a Savings Account. The bank opened its doors in 1920 and even printed and issued 3 denominations of national currency until 1935 - quite brief in terms of bank existence.
