These discourses were written by Hosea Hildreth (1782-1835), native of Chelmsford, Mass, Professor of Mathematics at Phillips in Exeter, and Pastor of the First Church in Gloucester, "in the hope of contributing something towards strengthening what remains of religious institutions in the state."
