Presentation copy, inscribed by Armitage to Edwin Lester (1895-1990), the longtime general director of the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera, which he founded in 1938, on the front flyleaf. Quarto. Original blue paper-covered boards over a blue cloth spine with gilt titles. Faint staining to the bottom edge. Minor fading and wear to the extremities of the boards. The dust jacket is browned along the spine and folds, with a bit of general shelfwear; else very good. Inscribed by Author.
