This is the final set of instructions printed for the third issue of Palmer's Computing Scale. It has a new introduction but the same text as the 1844 Key .... Fuller became associated with Palmer some time in 1845 just before the third issue of the computing scale was produced. This contained Fuller's Time Telegraph on the verso of the scale in place of the four columns of printed instructions normally present, hence the necessity to print the separately issued Improvement .... offered here. It is doubtful if Palmer or Fuller ever understood the theory of logarithms. Their device was marketed as a 'magic pill' for all kinds of calculations but ultimately failed to gain a wide audience. Feazel, "Palmer's Computing Scale" in Journal of the Oughtred Society, vol. 3, #1, 1994.
