[1889]. Very Good. Woodruff, Wilford. Official Declaration. Cannon, George Q.; Smith, Joseph F.. [Salt Lake City]: NP, [1889]. 3pp. 8vo. Pamphlet. Book condition: Very good with subtly bumped corners and a few tiny spots on extremities. A public, official declaration of the LDS church denouncing claims that the church supports the killing of apostates, that the church can supersede or alter the judgement of any civil court, that the church aims to interfere with civil rights, that they harbor illegal immigrants that are LDS, and that the church is hostel towards or wishes to overthrow the U.S. government. They ""earnestly appeal to the American Press and people not to condemn the Latter-day Saints unheard"" and ""ask for the suspension of national and popular judgement until a full investigation can be had"".
