New York: Sotheby's. Near Fine. (c.2003). First Edition. Softcover. [light soiling to covers, minor handling wear, slight bump and soft diagonal crease at upper right corner of front cover (looks worse in the scanned image than to the naked eye); internally clean]. (color photographs) Massive 474-page catalogue for the auction of renowned designer Bill Blass's collection of -- well, you name it: furniture, antiques, art, sculpture, porcelain, silver, bric-a-brac and tchotkes of all sorts. The sale, held over three days, was a smash hit: virtually every one of the 805 lots was sold, with the total take being a little bit north of $13.6 million, more than double the pre-auction high estimate. And they weren't through yet: near the end of the catalogue are full-page ads for three upcoming auctions that also included property from the Blass collection, focusing on Old Master Paintings, Impressionist & Modern Art, and Latin American Art. .
