Very large volume bound in full silver-stamped blue cloth with matching slipcase. The etching illustrations in this deluxe edition, were from the magazine appearance of the novel in Le Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation and have been added in order to illustrate the original manuscript. Created by Alphonse de Neuville and Edouard Riou, these engraved etchings are the work of the renowned Henri Théophile Hildibrand, known for his work with Gustave Doré. The manuscript, restored and published for the first time ever, allows for a unique behind-the-scenes experience as the reader becomes immersed in the fantastical world of Verne.
