Individual engraved colored botanical plates issued by Johann Wilhelm Weinman a German apothecary and botanist noted for his creation of the Florilegium Phytanthoza Iconographia between 1737 and 1745 which was composed of eight fo volumes with more than 1,000 hand-colored engravings. Johann Georg Nicolaus Dieterichs wrote the botanical text which was completed by his son Ludwig Michael Dietrichs. The work is highly regarded for the quality of its color plates and the accuracy of its images. The plates were engraved by Bartholome Seuter, Johann Elias Ridinger and Johann Jakob Haid, and were printed using a process invented by Seuter.
