Andrew Horatio Reeder (of the Kansas territory and once a Democrat) declares his belief that the people of Kansas "can see no reasonable hope of justice and sympathy" in the Democratic Party. He endorses Fremont and the Republicans. Also includes Secretary Marcy's opinion of Col. Fremont, an extract from the annual report of the Secretary of War, Dec. 5, 1846, including a favorable review of his military campaigns in California, 1845--46. Scarce. Sabin 68628.
