Illustrated dark blue cloth portfolio, with gold screen-printed design and lettering on the front cover. Tan label with black lettering pasted on the spine. This is #69 of a limited edition of 100 copies. The portfolio was self-published, and includes 11 loose plates (a title plate + 10 woodcuts). Each plate depicts a scene from a Yiddish poem, is signed in pencil by Hirsch, and measures approximately 18.5x13". One of the woodcuts is multicolored, and one is in "two-color".
The titles of the plates are: 1. Volkslied, 2. Datsche, 3. Erschiessung, 4. Nocturno, 5. Treppe, 6. Gespräch, 7. Kutscher, 8. Porträt, 9. Liebespaar, 10. Requiem.
Binding with minor rubbing to corners, as well as some minor smudges and scratching to the covers of the portfolio. Minor age toning along the edges of the interior cover of the portfolio. Binding in very good, interior and plates in near fine condition overall. Scarce.
