Since 1973 we've sold good horse and art books and ephemera to thousands of individuals, libraries, and museums worldwide. For an overview of our inventory please visit our website, and if you don't find the book you're looking for, just ask. Many of our books, especially the lower priced ones, aren't online. And when you're in the Boston area, we welcome you to our open shop, located since 1983 in a vibrant neighborhood of independent shops, restaurants, and colleges near Harvard Square. Look for the big blue "1640" banner and follow the garden path. If you're parting with your books, we love to buy unusual items. We also appraise collections in our fields of specialization: equestrian and the visual arts. In the words of the New York Times tribute to Paul Mellon, "He loved horses, he loved art, and he loved books. He would have been the first to say that life does not offer greater riches than affection for such things."
