About
Rodger Friedman Rare Book Studio owes its name and its inspiration to the traditional Italian antiquarian bookshops, called studios, which are typically run by solitary proprietors who devote their lives to the study of books and manuscripts. They remind us that the words “study” and “studio” come from the Latin word for zeal and devotion: studium. My shop’s center of gravity trade is a small, choice collection of early printed books; I also offer a variety of items related to humanism, natural history, the 18th-century, art, and travel literature. Since 1993, my goal has been to match discerning collectors with extraordinary books and manuscripts. It has been my life’s work.Terms of Sale
