[No place: no publisher, 1878. Unbound. Very Good. Reward of merit. Measuring 4½" x 2¾". Card chromolithographed with a baseball scene, a bouquet of flowers, and a blank line to present the card. This card not presented. Small tape repair of blank verso, very good or better. The catcher seems to be wearing a rudimentary mask, which dates it no earlier than 1876, but probably not much later. Very scarce.

The image depicts a WWI plane crash, with a deceased German soldier in the wreckage, onlookers seen in the background. Captioned in French in the negative "Cadavres Aviateurs Bohes [Boches]", meaning “Corpses of Boche Aviators”, Boche being a derogatory term for German soldiers.
