Salinger (1919-2010) has remained one of America’s most mysterious authors. Known for his widely-acclaimed novel The catcher in the rye, Salinger became a famous recluse following Nine stories’ publication. After remaining fairly hidden since his final television interview in 1980, he emerged at the forefront of his now famed copyright infringement lawsuit in 2009.
