Compendium of popular folk remedies compiled by Heinen from various sources. "The author in his preface states that the book is written in non -technical language for the German farmer and ruralist... the book contains more than one hundred headings, listing various illnesses, giving their symptoms, causes, and treatment, with remedies; illnesses common to women and children are grouped in the latter portion of the book" (Brendle & Unger). Some stains throughout; damp stain to top left corner of leaves. A few small chips to leaf edges. In full, dark brown calf; spine gilt-compartmented with ornaments in each.
