After being released from the hospital following a suicide attempt, a young man is scouted by a mysterious research group to participate in a time travel experiment. Alain Resnais' fifth film, a brutal rumination on memory and the death of a relationship, thematically and stylistically a precursor to Michel Gondry's 2004 film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

Shot on location in Brussels, Belgium.
