After many years living in northern Italy, a factory worker takes his wife and children on a vacation to his rural Sicilian hometown, where he is unknowingly conscripted into performing a hit for the local mob boss. One of the first Italian films to address the Mafia, a pitch-black satire of class difference and Italian twentieth century culture.
