[Birth and Baptismal Fraktur Broadside] Geburts und Tauf-Schein

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: G. S. Peters, 1844. Framed. Near Fine. Commemorating the birth, in December, 1843, and the January, 1844 baptism, of Ludwig Frey, the son of George Frey and Maria Zeigler Frey. Hand-colored. Exposed portion: 39 by 31.5 cm, with frame (and matting), 57 by 45.5 cm. Condition: Fraktur has small inconspicuous hole, a jagged closed tear on its bottom which nonetheless isn't glaring, a touch of soil and other wear, but overall, attractive and a lovely example of the genre (meaning a 19th century Pennsylvania printed fraktur with hand-coloring, etc. The broadside has not been examined outside of frame. Matting and framing are more (truncated) recent, without condition issues, and serve the broadside well. (Inventory #: 007379)
