Hanover, NH, 1915. Cards. Cream cards, black and white photo. Near fine. 18.5 X 14 cm. Fraternity Program and Menu featuring the original photo of the wooden house the Kappa Sigma chapter built on Webster Avenue. Chi Gamma Epsilon began as the fraternal organization Beta Gamma in 1904. There were 11 founding members. In 1905, Beta Gamma was given national status as the Gamma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Sigma at Dartmouth College. From 1914 to 1916, the brothers raised enough money to build this small wooden house. The house was razed in 1935 for need of a larger structure. The menu features Stuffed Smelts, Broiled Native Chicken, Tenderloin, Lobster Salad, and Punch Crème de Menthe. Featured members gave Toasts, and Initiates and Visiting Brothers are listed on the rear of the program. Visible crease through the middle, otherwise clean with original photo displayed in a cutout on front cover.
