First editions of three illustrated medical texts on traumatic injuries. The first explores the nature and treatment of cranial fractures, including those caused by irradiation. Photographic examples of skulls support the text. It is considered a landmark treatise in the history of cranial biomechanics. The second addresses gunshot wounds: through the arteries, bones, and head. The plates illustrate different parts of the internal anatomy after a gunshot occurs. The final text describes osteomalacia, a disorder that causes bone softening, in humans and animals and compares its effects in the two. It includes pharmacological treatment suggestions and statistics of their efficacy. The plates show human bodies afflicted with the disease.
