Freiligrath-Kroeker (1845-1904) was the daughter of German poet and translator of English ballads Ferdinand Freiligrath. She followed in her father’s footsteps, becoming a writer and translating poetry and children’s stories from German into English. Her other works include A Century of German lyrics; A Domestic syndicate; as well as translations of New fairy tales of Brentano; Gottfried Keller: A selection of his tales; and Poems selected from Heinrich Heine. She served as editor for the translation of her father’s best-known poetry into English.
