First edition of this practical guide to home medicine. Like many similar works, the author includes methods for recognizing symptoms of and treating diseases as well as maintaining good health and thus preventing a wide range of illnesses. His approach is holistic, emphasizing the importance of pure air, proper diet, exercise, and cleanliness. Of particular interest is a chapter on directions for preparing food for both the healthy and the sick.
