Florence: Tipografia all'insegna di Dante, 1827. First edition?. Good. 90 x 115 mm; VI [2] pages. Portrait frontispiece. Printer's mark (portrait of Dante) on 7th page. In wraps with engraved figure of roses with typographical border. Lower right corner of upper wrap torn away.

Unrecorded publication of a canzone dedicated to the Florentine painter Pietro Benvenuti. The only recorded appearance of the text shows it as part of a larger collection of verses by various authors published the same year by Niccolò Palmerini, printer to the Grand Duke of Florence. As this edition is unrecorded, it is impossible to say whether it preceded Palmerini's edition or followed it. The entry in the catalogue of the Italian Servizio Bibliotecario Nazionale cites no authorship, while our copy includes a dedication signed Albina Getti. Pietro Benvenuti (1769-1844) was designated painter to the Court of Tuscany in 1804, and directed the Fine Arts Academy of Florence from 1807. His frescoes adorn the walls of the Pitti Palace.
