Journal of Betsey Augusta Penniman, wife of the whaling captain Edward Penniman of Eastham, Massachusetts. The journal was begun during the 26th year of her life and was kept during a four-year voyage on the whaling bark MINERVA. The voyage began five years after Augusta and Edward were married. This is the text of that journal along with illustrations of photographs of the couple and whale shaped stamps that Augusta used throughout the journal. Clean copy.
