Logomachy, or War of the Words

Wright, F.A.. WRIGHT, F.A. Logomachy, or War of the Words. Cincinnati, F.A. Wright, 1874. 56 cards, measuring 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. On each is a letter of the alphabet in large type, and a picture of a songbird. A word-building game, which won the Highest Premium for the Best New Parlor Game at the Cincinnati Industrial Exposition of 1874. A clean, complete set, with the printed instruction sheet, and housed in its own cardboard box with a color-lithographed pictorial lid. The lower part of the box is repaired with thread, and one side of the lid is detached. Rare in the original box and with the instructions.
