The complete lectures on physical science by the famous scientist that was commenced shortly after his death. It contains important addtions to key lectures. The volumes were published out of sequence causing later volumes in the set to be issued prior to the first. The first division, or 50 pp. introduction to the entire set was published in 1903 and is bound in a leather that appears slightly darker than the rest of the set and has a different ownership signature (truncated) than the balance of the set (though all volumes are uniform in what is a publisher's three quarter leather binding). Barth continued to issue the volumes through 1925 varying the impression dates as issued. An x-library set was sold at Christie's in 1996 but it was made up from later prtgs..
