Patavia: Paul Frambotti, 1639. FIRST EDITION. With 4 full-page engraved plates. Contemporary calf; minor spotting throughout. Inscribed by the author on title. Among a few of the numerous authors cited are Aldus Manutius, Agricola, Fabricius, Fallopius, Fuchs, Eustachius, Spigelius, Tagliacozzi, and Vesalius.

Rode (1587-1659), a Danish physician, studied at Marburg and Padua, where he was ultimately appointed professor of botany and director of the botanical gardens.
