An erotic hand painted color scroll, 12 individual scenes, each painting ca. 21.5 x 15 cm., overall width is 18 cm., in very clean, pristine condition, external phoenix cloth, inside dark blue silk mounting, jade ends. This work is an excerpt from the Chinese erotic novel, the Chin P'ing Mei, written during the Ming dynasty. It depicts the sexual exploits of the hero, Hsi-men and is China's most famous classic novel of erotica. * This lovely hand scroll illustrates twelve erotic scenes with Hsi-men and his willowy female consorts.
