Contemporary pigskin, tooled in blind; 4to (202 x 265 mm); lacks 5X2-3, 5Y-1, otherwise complete, with half-title page and frontispiece. Front board a little scratched; rear board scuffed along the edges. Some very light chipping to the edges of some leaves, nowhere infringing upon the text; some contemporary marginalia. Nice and clean overall, and handsomely bound. Sold as is.

Some of Godefroy's correspondence with his learned friends, with his kinsman President de Thou, Isaac Casaubon, Jean Jacques Grynaeus, and others, is preserved in the libraries of the British Museum, of Basel and Paris.
