New. 36 cm; [52] text pages (including blanks), and 5 original aquatints (one in color) with tissue guards, signed and dated by the artist just prior to his death in 2012, and authorized on verso by the artist's son. The whole enclosed in an illustrated printed portfolio numbered by the printer.

Urbino, the small city in Central Italy that once nourished Raphael, is a global center for the art and technique of engraving. Antonio Battistini studied engraving under masters at Urbino's Scuola del Libro, and became a faculty member of the National School of Art and Design, where he was ultimately chair of the Life Drawing and Scientific Illustration department. In 2001, he was named to the Academy of Raphael, an artistic honor. The portfolio offered here includes his last prints, pulled with the assistance of Carla Luminati in the Ca' Virginio print shop in Urbino.
