This book was intended to appeal to the general reading public as well as students of science and discusses radioactive elements and isotopes in addition to the “wider application of these fundamental discoveries.”

Soddy (1877-1956) was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his contributions to our knowledge of the chemistry of radioactive substances, and his investigations into the origin and nature of isotopes.
