England, circa 1900. Ephemera. Fine. Single leaf (180x113mm), handwritten and illustrated in black ink on the recto only. The story begins, "On arriving at the camp near 'wattacrammah' I saw my wife surrounded by five ferocious lions..." A humorous bit, in which at least one lion is suspected of being British, and in which all five lions meet their humiliating defeat. The author includes two sketches within the text, and signs his initials as a kind of logo (possibly "TOM"). The handwriting is tiny, and sometimes a little difficult to decipher, it's nonetheless (truncated)
