The text also describes glass- and ceramic-making techniques, dyeing, brewing, etc. Gren (1760-98), founder of the Journal der Physik, Germany's most exciting scientific journal, slowly adopted Lavoisier's theories, which helped prepare the way for the ultimate acceptance of the Frenchman's ideas in Germany.
