Hardcover. 34pp of handwritten recipes. Many of the recipes are for desserts and several have the name of the person who gave her the recipes. Some wear and fading to covers. Interior pages in overall good condition. Too bad Betty Crocker is a fictional person or we could spin quite a story.

Collection of photographs, ephemera, and pamphlets related to Old Abe the mascot of the 8th Wisconsin Regiment during the Civil War
A Small collection related to the Wisconsin war eagle old Abe who was captured as a chick in Northern Wisconsin in 1861 and was the mascot of the 8th Wiscon regiment. After the war he was exhibited widely and was much revered. He survived a fire in the Wisconsin State house in 1881 but declined from smoke inhalation and died on March 26, 1881.

Mournful Tragedy Composed on the death of five young females drowned by the capsizing of a pleasure boat in Portland Harbor Sept. 1, 1840
Single sheet, both sides. Some tears on the margins. An unknown poet recounts the tragic event when a boat returning from viewing the U.S. Squadron Banner capsized. Four were saved but five young females drowned.

Made by W.B. Gleason, Lisbon, NH. Negative preserved circa 1866. Blemish on left side, appears to be in image. Mills brutally murdered George Maxwell of Franconia, NH and was the last public hanging in NH. 5,000 people came to watch.

Croydon: W.G. Harding, 1819. 13 pp. Removed and edges trimmed when bound. A man named Wench who sold wine desperately need money and sold the Abbotts wine for under cost. The Abbotts encouraged Wench to purchase good wine from other merchants on credit and sell to them for less than what he paid for immediate cash.

Columbian Exposition Liberty Bell Visits Atlanta GA
The Columbian Liberty Bell Arrived here yesterday evening. It came from Chicago. Ovation accorded it all the entire route. The Enterprise of the N.C. and St. L. Judge John W. Akins' eloquent response at Cartersville-Marietta had a big crowd out. From the Constitution, Atlanta, GA September 18, 1895. 4pp on thin aper. This bell was cast in Troy, NY from metal given by thousands of people.

Document is dated Nov. 17, 1838. Among the items are a fee for instructing in Legal Studies, 7 vols. MA Reports, 2 Vols. Maine Law and 1 Vol. Powell on Evidence. Cilley, a Congressman from Maine was killed in a duel. He studied law in Ruggles office, Ruggles was a politician who served in the U.S. Senate. One page letter from Stephen Higginson dated Boston Aug. 23, 1791 to LeRoy and Bayard Merchants in New York
In the letter Higginson talks about bank shares and their fluctuation. Sales have been attempted at auction, but no buyers appeared except speculators...He then talks about the shipping business and a shipment of Brandy that Leroy and Bayard are sending. Stephenson was an important Boston merchant and served in the Continental Congress of 1784. It appears he was an agent for Leroy and Bayard, who were powerful merchants in NYC.
