This cookbook germinated through the spiritual organization - Unity - founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in 1889. Growing out of Transcendentalism and becoming a part of the New Thought movement, Charles felt the need to further his practice and chose to bring Vegetarianism to the practice. The cookbook recipes range across the broad spectrum of food preparation, including salads and salad dressings, meat substitutes, sandwiches, soups, sauces, desserts, drinks, breads, and much more. The Inn, which was located on the Unity School of Christianity is illustrated throughout in black and white photos. Interior crisp and clean. Boards very lightly rubbed at edges. [BROWN1946].
