My holiday catalog is filled with mostly recent arrivals, starting with a nice selection of alphabet books including a nice copy of a Mickey Mouse ABC. I was thrilled to find an exceptionally nice copy of Evelyn Stuart Hardy's iteration of Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales, plus the slip cased, limited edition of the Holiday House Thumbelina and Tom Thumb. A book that brought great amusement was Joseph Green Francis' Book of Cheerful Cats. I stumbled upon a biology notebook from 1950 that was created by a local woman when she was a senior in high school. Her name was Anna Ginty (married name Conroy) and she took detailed notes, added diagrams and anatomical drawings...it's a little different than what I usually look for but it was fascinating to me, so I had to pick it up. I am thrilled (and a little reluctant, because I love it) to offer a copy of Picture for Harold's Room by Crockett Johnson which is also inscribed by him to a fellow children's book creator, Elizabeth Ring (Hennefrund). A book I haven't seen in over a decade crossed my threshold. Twice!: Now Open the Box by Dorothy Kunhardt. As a final mention: a dear little Christmas-themed book made it into the catalog, Santa Claus Bears by Dorothy Sherrill, it's small, precious and in superb condition. Enjoy!

Catalog 59 includes signed Caldecott Medal winners, such as an early printing of Gail E. Haley's A Story, A Story; an early American title, The Wise Boys, published by McLoughlin Bros.; a nice selection of ABC books including a Mother Goose Alphabet, Little Darlings ABC and a nice Railroad ABC. We recently purchased a large collection of paper books which include many advertising pieces such as uncommon Mother Goose booklets illustrated by Lois Lenski and Eulalie, there are also quite a few fairy tale titles like Puss in Boots, Cinderella and Little Snow-Drop. Not to be overlooked is the fabulous and rare Noah's Ark panorama by Oskar Laske, L'Arche Noah.

Catalog 58 includes 374 items, both new arrivals and a selection from our inventory. Highlights include a Ludwig Bemelmans rarity, Fifi about a little poodle in Uganda; L. Frank Baum introduces Animal ABC from the Christmas Stocking series; A first American edition of Edward Ardizzone's Tim and Lucy Go To Sea; a scarce Newbery Honor by Alice Dalgliesh, The Bears on Hemlock Mountain; a signed copy of Ed Emberley's Drummer Hoff which won the Caldecott Medal;beautiful signed books by Elizabeth Orton Jones, Trina Schart Hyman and Tomie de Paola and much more.

Catalog 57 includes many Robert Sabuda pop-up books, most of them signed; a wonderful Noah's Ark illustrated by Tibor Gergely; Jotto Seibold's Pop-Up Alice in Wonderland; Johnny Gruelle's Grimm's Fairy Tales; Children of Odin by Padraic Colum and illustrated by Willy Pogany in the original dust jacket; an uncommon Diana Thorne book, Mitzi; The White Ring by Enys Tregarthen based on Cornish legends, signed by the editor, Elizabeth Yates and the illustrator, Nora Unwin; Else Wenz-Vitor's Daummelinchen (Thumbelina) in dust jacket and finally, a selection of non-children's books, mostly about England, Art and Interior Design.

Catalog 56 includes exciting new arrivals such as: a rare Mother Goose parody, Turvy-Topsy, Rhymes Turned and Illustrated; a first edition of Tomi Ungerer's Crictor; a rare L. Frank Baum Wizard of Oz imitation by Frederic Chapin, Toodles of Treasure Town and her Snow Man; Lilian Price Hacker's gorgeous book, Susan in its original box; The Cat that Jumped out of the Story, illustrated by Peggy Bacon. As always, we've also included a selection of beautiful picture books, classics of juvenile literature, Caldecott Medal and Honor books and Newbery Medal and Honor books, plus signed and inscribed books.

Catalog 55 includes exciting new arrivals such as: two uncommon Thornton Burgess slip cased sets; John W. Harrington's book, Adventures of Admiral Frog; a stunning first edition of the Petersham's Caldecott Honor, American ABC, two Harry Whittier Frees books featuring posed baby animals, and an uncommon May Byron title, Little Yellow Duckling illustrated by M. M. Rudge. As always, the new arrivals are accompanied by a selection of great books from our inventory.

Catalog 52 is an assortment of new arrivals published in the last 10 years, some signed; early 20th Century illustrated books and a lovely Swedish children's annual containing illustrations by John Bauer and Einar Norelius. The Circus is Coming is signed by Hilary Knight and Plum is signed by Mary GrandPre, famous illustrator of the American Editions of the Harry Potter books. Enjoy!
